Craig E. Geis is the Co-Founder of California Training Institute and he possesses an extensive background in error and risk management that stems from over 34 years in management and flight crew training. As a career military pilot, Lt. Col. Geis was selected to develop the military's Team Resource Management (TRM) training program to address human error. Numerous civilian and military organizations throughout the world have since adopted his program, and it has formed the basis for NASA, the FAA, and the International Civil Aviation Organization recommendations on Human Factors training in the airline industry. CTI has now adapted the program in Threat & Error Management Training specifically for the law enforcement community. Mr. Geis is a certified Force Science Analyst and expert in the science and investigation of Human Factors. The effectiveness of our course content was evaluated by NASA and found to significantly change attitudes in individual crewmembers.
Craig is a former instructor for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Maryland, and the University of San Francisco. He has served as an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California, providing instruction in numerous courses on Safety Management and Human Factors. Mr. Geis holds a B.A. in Management from C.W. Post College in New York, an MBA in Management from Georgia Southern College, and an M.A. in Psychology from Austin Peay State University.
Kathleen McCarthy, is co-founder and managing partner of the California Training Institute. Ms. McCarthy has been administrating and directing the marketing plans for multiple law enforcement training programs throughout the United States and through California POST for the past decade. She holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University, has an extensive background in conference facilitation, business administration, and event coordination.
